Thanks for your kind words, everyone. And to answer the question that was asked, it depends on the program I'm using. I use picnik a lot, because I like it. Under "advanced" tab, choose curves, go to drop down menu where some of the presets are, choose blue cross process and fade the opacity to your liking. Or for a different look, try the polaroid preset and fade.
